In 2008, Michelle Nichols founded Global Hug Your Kids Day, the first child rights movement in the United States. She began the day ten years after her son Mark died. She began the day ten years after her son Mark died. When Mark lost his battle against brain cancer, he was only 8 years old. With a simple hug every day, She began the day to remind parents and parents alike that their children are loved.
