The national waterpark day celebrations have a long tradition
National Waterpark Day was established on July 28, 2017, to highlight the unique attractions waterparks have to offer especially during the summer season. They soon expanded to other areas of the country after opening their first waterpark in the Wisconsin Dells in July 2000. For more waterpark fun, visit the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania or Sandusky, Ohio. In March 2017, the resort opened phase two of its waterpark in the Pocono Mountains. The Sandusky location as America's Largest Indoor Waterpark was also dethroned by the expansion, which also dethroned the Sandusky site as America's Largest Indoor Waterpark. Conde Nast Traveler named the resort as the world's Coolest Indoor Waterpark in 2014. In 2014, Conde Nast Traveler named it as the world's best Indoor waterpark.
