People from every October 10th, World Homeless Day, brings people together to find ways to improve the lives of homeless people in their communities. It's also a time to draw attention to the homeless's needs on a local basis.

Many people with a mental illness suffer a mental health disorder but lack the necessary services are often homeless. Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness for women.

Communities from over a hundred countries assemble to celebrate World Homeless Day. Several cities host World Homeless Day Summits that include speeches, presentations, and educational seminars. Many faith-based charities host fundraisers to support the homeless in their neighborhood. Special collections of the homeless, collect goods, design and hand out survival kits, and provide prayers for the homeless are among the faith groups' special offerings.
