World Arthritis Day was established in 1996 by Arthritis and Rheumatism International. The day is promoted by the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR). Many other organizations around the world have banded together to raise concerns about arthritis and other rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders (RMDs).
These organizations include the Arthritis National Research Foundation, the National Organization of Rheumatology Managers (NORM), the Arthritis Foundation, and the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA).
