Everyone loves tortilla chips! They're most commonly served with salsa, chile con queso, acamole, cheese dips, or other dips. Tortilla chips are made from corn tortillas cut into wedges and then fried and then fried. The tortillas are made from corn, vegetable oil, salt, and water. Tortos are often made with yellow corn, but they can also be made with white, blue, or red corn.

Despite the fact that tortilla chips have always been considered Mexican food, also known as tostadas, they were first mass-produced in Los Angeles in the late 1940s. Rebecca Webb Carranza has been lauded for introducing the crisp chips in the United States. Los Angeles's deli and tortilla factory was owned by She and her husband. And its creation was almost by accident!!

When is National Nachos Day?

When the tortilla manufacturing machine rejected the misshapen tortilla, the inspiration struck. Carranza discovered that triangles could be cut into triangles and fried. Those were fried. She then sold them at the El Zarape Tortilla Factory for a single penny a bag. In 1994, Carranza received the Golden Tortilla Award for her contributions to the Mexican food industry.

Nachos is another popular dish made with tortilla chips. Around the year 1943, Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya invented the dish we know as nachos. The tortilla chips are served with either melted or shredded cheese. Additional toppings are often added, including meat, salsa, refried beans, tomatoes, diced onion, lettuce, olives, jalapenos, and sour cream.
