National Idaho Day
Starting the week of Independence Day and ending with Hawaii. We feature a small portion of each states' past, foods, and the people who make up the state. Several states have their own state celebrations. There's so much more to explore that we can't help but celebrate our beautiful country even more.

The Rocky Mountains range dominates the state. The Snake River winds its way through the state's rugged western border, which has the country's deepest river gorge, the deepest river gorge in North America. The spectacular landscapes along the Snake River took thousands of years to sculpt, as shown by Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. The Snake River's rugged landscapes were difficult to sculpt.
Idaho doesn't lack scenery. Take any byway, and the next turn will bring a whole new vista to view.. For example, the Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve will erupt before your eyes. Ancient volcanic activity created this massive lava field.
Don't forget to investigate Hagerman's Fossil Beds while exploring Idaho. Paleontologists have been fascinated by fossils from a long time. If an equine passion is on display, be sure to investigate the Hagerman Horse as well!
Stone cityscapes appear beyond the fossils. For those who were westward bound, the City of Rocks, which was inhabited by native peoples, explorers, and modern-day adventurers became a kind of waystation or landmark.
Inventors seem to like Idaho. Idaho is the home of the television, in addition to the list of patents for changes to printing presses and railroad technology. Philo Farnsworth invented the necessary hardware that brought the small screen to the mass market, and Philo Farnsworth invented the necessary software.
