International Plastic Free Day

International Plastic Free Day is a call to action that draws attention to the plastic we use every day. On May 25th, pledge to use no single-use plastic for one day (including bottles, take-out food containers, utensils, bags, and wrappers).

Plastic plastic is made every year in over 380 million tonnes. Plastic made in half of all plastics is single-use, implying that it is thrown away after just one use. Since only 9% of all plastic is recycled, the bulk of it ends up littering our streets, filling our landfills, and polluting our oceans.
