International Students' Day
International Students Day is commemorates the University of Prague's Nazi storming on November 17th. Around the world, the day also promotes student activism.

International students' day history has a long tradition in the United States
After Nazi Germany had forced the group to disband in London on November 17th, 1940, the Central Association of Czechoslovak Students (USCS) was reestablished in London on November 17th, 1940. Members of the USCS tried to convince other students around the world to mark November 17th as a day of remembrance. They held a meeting on November 16th, 1941, to celebrate International Students' Day on November 17th. 1941. Students in 1989 used the 50th anniversary of International Students' Day to help spark the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia.
