The egg roll was a Chinese-American tradition that extended to Vietnamese immigrants searching for the American Dream. These traditions arose from the unfailing dedication of families in chop suey palaces to hungry employees.. Restaurants around the country perfected their own interpretations of the egg roll with a variety of finely chopped ingredients, including pork, shrimp, cabbage, onions, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and seasonings. It was all wrapped up in a thin pastry wrap and deep-fried.
The egg roll is a delectable snack or an exciting component of a meal at home or away. However, it's also played a vital role in making dreams come true for several generations of immigrants in the United States. And in many ways, it continues to be.
Our ability to enjoy the egg roll is as close as our freezer, telephone, restaurant, or even our own recipe.. The egg roll is versatile, too. Our obsession with the egg roll continues to evolve to accommodate stringent diets, exotic flavors, and so much more. What more could we ask for a commemoration?

History of national egg roll day has a long tradition
In 2019, Van's Kitchen introduced National Egg Roll Day to celebrate the company's founding in June of 1986. The company's founding was celebrated on June 29th. Two deserving Vietnamese immigrants, Van and Kim Nguyen, brought their ultimate American Dream to life by creating authentic egg rolls. Van and Kim Nguyen came from Vietnam, like many immigrant families before them.. They formed a home and family business in Dallas, Texas, together. They patiently recruited hard-working employees, filling out paperwork in a language that was not their own.. The Nguyens developed a company model based solely on their greatest strength: making authentic egg rolls for those they love. Van's Kitchen sets themselves apart by their decades-long dedication to making every bite the best one by using only fresh, whole ingredients and crafting the egg rolls in artisan batches.
