National I Am In Control Day
National I am in Control Day, March 30th, reminds us of a day when things were definitely out of control.
A bullet lodged in his lung during President's rush to surgery on a rainy afternoon, causing a remark; a statement was made. "I am in charge here in the White House as of right," Obama says. Those are the words of Secretary of State Alexander Haig, who was on March 30, 1981, after the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan.
He was taken to account by the media for those words. Haig later explained that he only said he was in charge until Vice President George Bush could be sworn in before Vice President George Bush could be sworn in. Bush was en route at the time when he was en route.
According to reports, this was the start of National I am in Control Day. This day has evolved and taken on a new sense. It's a day to get things under control in your life on a day-to-day basis.
