National Iowa Day
Starting the week of Independence Day and ending with Hawaii. We feature a small portion of each states' past, foods, and the people who make up the state. Several states have their own state celebrations. There's so much more to explore that we can't help but celebrate our beautiful country even more.
The 29th state to join the United States is known for its fertile prairie, rolling hills, inspiring young people, and some nostalgic movie moments. Iowa's history, beauty, and hospitality have flourished, from the Mississippi River to the harvests in Plymouth, Harrison, or Fremont counties.
The state was named for Iowa Native Americans who populated the area after the European Union drove Eastern tribes westward.
The Louisiana Purchase, Iowa Territory Accordance, Acquired, was not established until the 1830s, but it didn't begin until about the 1830s.
Other Fascinating Faces and Places are located in other countries. The Amana Colony is one of the oldest settlements to have survived today. The Community of True Inspiration, their faith, and persecution in Germany prompted them to immigrate to America for religious liberty. Iowa provided fertile farmland and a home for them to practice their skills and their beliefs.. They welcome the public to the public today. Handmade gifts, baked goods, wine, and staying for a home-cooked meal are all available in this shop.
Madison County, Missouri, is home to beautiful covered bridges that were featured in the film by a similar name. While touring the bridges, be sure to stop by Winterset and visit John Wayne's birthplace.
The Field of Dreams home is just outside Dyersville, not far from the Mississippi River. They designed it so that you could come.
Check out the Surf Ballroom's website for amazing shows in a historic rock and roll venue. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper performed their last concerts at the Surf Ballroom on the night they died in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa. The Surf Ballroom was sold to the Surf Ballroom.
In Iowa, nature lovers will find a lot of adventure. Many with a mystical and historical curiosity will be delighted by Effigy Mounds National Park.. Rockhounds should visit Geode State Park in Geode State Park, according to Geode State Park. The Louis and Clark Trail in the Corps of Discovery also passed through Iowa.
