National New York Day

Starting the week of Independence Day and ending with Hawaii, We began honoring each state in the order they entered the union in 2017. We feature a small portion of each states' past, foods, and the people who make up the state. Several states have their own state celebrations, andour observances in no way replace them.

National New York Day is on September 21st, marking the Empire State as we begin our tour of the states.

People & places

The Lenape people lived the land now known as New York. They're also known as the Delaware Indians, and they're also known as the Delaware Indians. Their settlements have also extended to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and portions of Delaware and Connecticut. The Dutch were the first Europeans to settle the area and named it New Netherland, according to the Dutch.

The Hudson River was full of settlements and trading posts. Beverwijck, the state capital, was once Beverwijck and the center of the fur trade. In 1624, the Dutch established a settlement on Nutten Island named New Amsterdam. The colony thrived on Manhattan Island two years later. They would later move to Manhattan Island.

Several times, the Dutch and British hands exchanged hands between the Dutch and British people, each without bloodshed, over time. In 1664, the first exchange, which was in 1664, would name it New York.

Freedom & influence: influence on freedom and control

The colonies later developed the Articles of Confederation after declaring independence. They soon discovered that a more powerful governing paper was needed.

Although New York sent three delegates to the Constitutional Convention in 1787, only Alexander Hamilton stayed to sign the final document. Hamilton, a federalist, had strong views that could have a huge effect on the design of the young nation's new governing document. For one, Hamilton favoured a life term of service for the President.

New York is brimming with grand vistas and endless historical paths to retrace, from Ellis Island's timeless halls to Niagara Falls' majestic splendor and majestic Adirondacks to the majestic splendor of Niagara Falls and majestic Adirondacks. Artists, sparks intelligent debate, and philosophical discussion are all based in New York City, the epitome of a melting pot long before the term was coined.
