Rosie Tholl, an American pen pal, who has travelled around the world to visit some of her pen pals, was the inspiration for National Pen Pal Day. Pen Pals United's co-founder and co-coordinator. She was also the co-coordinator of the Illinois Pen Pal Picnic Reunion and co-founder and co-coordinator.
