National Pet Fire Safety Day
On July 15th, National Pet Fire Safety Day reminds us to consider our pets when planning fire routes and safety in our homes.

Our pets are just as much a part of our family as any other family member. This day emphasizes the importance of shielding them. Both saving your house and your pet can be saved by taking preventable steps now. Many times our pets can cause a fire if we do not take the right precautions.
Pet fire safety tips
- Extinguish open fires are extinguish.. Pets are curious and certainly not suspicious, but certainly not suspicious. Wagging tails haphazardly knock over candles. Curious kitties will paw at sizzling grease, igniting a kitchen and bringing a kitchen to a halt

- When away from home, have safe young dogs. This can help prevent fire hazards from occurring.. Both pet kennels and in a pet-proofed room are choices
- Fire warning window clings help firefighters determine where your pets are located and determine the number of pets in the household. When you are away, add one to the window of the room where you keep your pets. Keep up with the number of pets living with you and your new phone number. Keep it up to know the number of pets residing with you and your new phone number
- If you are home, have a strategy. Know which family members will be responsible for each pet

The first national pet fire safety day in history has been celebrated.
In 2009, the American Kennel Club in partnership with ADT Security Services introduced National Pet Fire Safety Day to inform pet owners how to prevent fires and prepare for unexpected emergencies.
