With a smile, start the morning greeting and the first "How can I help you?" greet the first. Starting the day with a smile will undoubtedly be more empowering than a pout or grump, no matter where you are employed, career seeking, retired, or searching for new horizons. Starting with a smile first is quicker than trying to get there later in the day.

When you smile at someone, you are showing them that they are important and deserving the smile they just gave them. Smiles are morale boosters and confidence builders.

According to study, smiling actually does raise attractiveness and likability among humans.. Smiling builds more confidence and increased interpersonal communication. Smiling at someone who can help them relax and relieve their anxiety while still making you feel at ease, too.. Even if you don't feel like it, smiling will lift your spirits and make you a happier person.

Learn how to celebrate smile power day on a daily basis

Today, try to smile more often. Use a smile to disarm a critical situation, or simply smile during your daily activities. Are you having trouble smiling? Are you having trouble with smiling?

Here are some tips to help you smile

  • Consider a few happy times that instantly bring a smile to your face. Smiles are the product of smiling, not those moments when you belly laughed until your stomach hurts or a time when you were so proud of yourself that your face hurt from smiling. To help you smile more often, keep those memories handy and use them to help you smile more often
  • Save a couple of short jokes that are just so silly that you can't help but smile. Tell them to others, too. The best ones are simple kid's gags or riddles that play on words
  • Learn Spoonerisms.. People stop and consider this amusing way of converting letters in two words in a sentence to make new words. And then they smile and so will you! Instead of ordering peas and carrots at a restaurant, you say, "I'll have the keys and parrots." is an example of a Spoonerism
  • Make a list of the things you're thankful for. Which ones make you smile? Which ones make you smile? Keep the list handy and refer to it often. Add to it and see your smiles grow. Add to it

1877

Henry Ossian Flipper, a former slave, became the first African American to graduate from West Point. After attending Atlanta University, he entered the United States Military Academy in 1873.

1921

Bessie Coleman was the first female pilot of African-American descent and the first pilot of Native-American descent. She went to France in 1920 because no flight schools in the United States would admit her. There Coleman obtained her pilot's license on June 15, 1921. 1921. Coleman began working on a farm after she got her license. Once more, she returned to Europe to learn the art of flying.. She gained the nickname "Queen Bess" at functions for her flamboyant style over the years. Coleman died tragically as a passenger when she was thrown from a plane after the pilot lost control at the age of 34.

1934

Congress approved the boundaries and construction of facilities for the park, twenty-two years after President Calvin Coolidge signed the bill authorizing the establishment of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Thousands of visitors from around the country were flocking to see the park's majestic sights right before its completion six years ago.

2012
