Nirvana Day
Every year, Mahayana Buddhists around the world commemorate Nirvana Day on either February 8th or 15th. The festival, also known as Parinirvana Day, commemorates Buddha's death and his ascension to complete Nirvana.
Some people incorrectly believe that the historical Buddha was a goddess. However, he was not an ordinary person named Siddhartha Gautama. Buddha was actually his name, according to him. "A person who is awake" is described as "buddha" in the dictionary.
In Nepal, the Buddha is thought to have been born in 567 BC. Prince Siddhartha was the son of a king's son. He was 29 years old when he encountered his first sick man, an old man, and then a corpse. ' Even though he was king, he knew that one day would pass away. He went on a spiritual journey to prepare for this day. He renounced his worldly life during this period. Eventually, he discovered that meditation was the only way to a peaceful existence.
He sat in meditation under a ficus tree for one day until he realised enlightenment.. He became known as The Buddha from that time on. He spent the remainder of his life teaching others how to attain enlightenment for themselves. Four noble truths are emphasized in this enlightenment: This enlightenment focuses on four noble truths:
- Suffering is part of life.
- Wanting wants leads to suffering
- Overcoming aspirations can bring relief
- Following the Eightfold Path, which is represented by a wheel, can also relieve pain.
It is called partial nirvana when enlightenment is realized. Only in death can we achieve complete or final nirvana. This is the time when all hunger and pain are gone.. The Buddha died at the age of 80. Following his death, his followers established schools in his name.
