Australia Day is a national holiday in Australia. Each year, Australians commemorate the day that their country was established as a British colony in 1788. The first governor of New South Wales, John Robert Cove, arrived in Sydney Cove on this date and raised the first-ever Union Jack flag.
When you think of Australia, you immediately think of kangaroos and koala bears. You may also think of the Sydney Opera House or the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is also on display.
