On January 28th, Data Privacy Day reminds us each year to review how our personal information is used each year. It's an excellent time to take stock and assess our personal security.
Personal information is collected and used on a variety of websites and for various reasons. Parts of the issue are that most of the time, the people who have access to our records don't need it. In addition,, it is both legally and illegally redistributed. Massive amounts of personal information can be easily distributed thanks to the internet. Although the facts may be out of date due to our own carelessness or privacy abuses, there are steps you can take to shield yourself.
