The Sloppy Joe is one of America's all-time favorite hot sandwiches. Ground beef is often the base ingredient for its base ingredient. However, some people use turkey and buffalo as well as buffalo.. There are various theories as to the source of the sloppy Joe. In Havana, Cuba, in the 1930s, there was a genuine bartender who gained a following with vacationers who went by the name of Sloppy Joe. He was praised for his less than enthusiastic way of cleaning the bar. However, he was, nevertheless, an attentive bartender, and the bar was a hotspot for the jet set.
