What is Speak Up For Service Day?
***SPEAK UP FOR SERVICE DAY
On October 30th, Speak Up For Service Day highlights the importance of young people to be actively involved in community service. The good deeds of young people go unnoticed by their families too often. Speak Up For Service Day honors the forgotten. The forgotten are forgotten. It serves as a reminder to others that young people's contributions to their communities are invaluable to their families.
The Speak Up For Service public speaking competition is held each year in conjunction with the North Dakota State Lions Convention. Similar public speaking competitions are offered by several Lions Clubs and Districts around North America. Young people give their take on current events. They also discuss Lions' contributions to making the world a better place.
