What is World Metrology Day?
WORLD METROLOGY DAY
Thinking back to grade school science class, there was always that one moment in class when someone in class asked the teacher what everyone was asking.. Why are we measuring our liquids in milliliters rather than ounces?
The global recognition of this fact is World Metrology Day. Scientific societies gather on May 20th to honor a meeting that occurred on this day in 1875 that established a common measurement system among all nations.
The focus of World Metrology Day is on how our scientific measurement device is capable of stretching beyond the boundaries of language. Math & science have commonality of being both essential in the establishment and maintenance of foreign relations.
