World Caring Day

Each year, World Caring Day, shines a spotlight on all the ways we communicate and show each other that we care. Afterall, we should always take time to honor the millions of acts of kindness we see every day. Both acts of caring, whether large or small, are important. Caring is ongoing and takes place every day through compassion, care, kindness, and understanding.

#worldcaringday

Caring is one of the easiest ways to express love in a world full of anxiety. We all have times of crisis, sickness, or need. Sharing our journeys and becoming part of a beautiful tale in a divided, cynical world acknowledges and honors those who care.. We see patience, knowledge, kindness, and encouragement from all around us when we take the time to notice.

Some people should take the opportunity and practice caring on World Caring Day to encourage others to take the opportunity and practice caring. We need to lean into caring for one another more than ever. This day, using this day as a way to express your compassion demonstrates genuine love and is a blessing. You care and can improve someone's overall well-being by honestly asking how someone's day went.

The history of world caring has a long tradition

Brighid, a baby born in 1997, was inspired for World Caring Day on June 7, 1997. Sona Mehring, a software engineer, built the first CaringBridge website after being born prematurely. Baby Brighid's health was able to be updated online thanks to Sona, colleagues, and family. Most importantly, Brighid and her family were provided with the tools and support that they needed. Since social media platforms were non-existent at the time, the idea to build a website was revolutionary.

This simple act of caring sparked a domino effect, resulting in the creation of CaringBridge, a worldwide network. The non-profit group is dedicated to bringing families and families together with their loved ones during a health journey. The organization helps families with care, security, and unwavering support. CaringBridge welcomed 45 million visitors from around the world in 2021. On the CaringBridge portals for loved ones, over 1,900 messages of hope, care, and love are posted every hour.
