Many people with a mental illness suffer a mental health disorder but lack the necessary services are often homeless. Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness for women.

Communities from over a hundred countries assemble to celebrate World Homeless Day. Several cities host World Homeless Day Summits that include speeches, presentations, and educational seminars. Many faith-based charities host fundraisers to support the homeless in their neighborhood.
