World NET Cancer Day - November 10

World Net Cancer Day

Neuroendocrine tumors are on the rise in brain cancer awareness on November 10th, according to NET. This day also gives the NET community a voice to help diagnose, care, and research.

n neuroendocrine cells are neuroendocrine tumors that arise in neuroendocrine cells. These cells are similar to nerve cells in that they send or receive messages within the nervous system. These highly developed cells also function like hormones. Neuroendocrine tumors are present in certain organs of the body, such as the lungs, appendix, rectum, small intestine, and pancreas. Some tumors grow slowly, while others grow faster. Common signs include pain, lumps under the skin, exhaustion, and weight loss. These tumors can also cause excess hormones, frequent urination, increased thirst, and dizziness, as these tumors produce excess hormones.

Because these signs are similar to other conditions, it is difficult to diagnose neuroendocrine tumors or NET cancer. Over 80% of all NET patients have incorrect diagnoses. These patients are first diagnosed with the wrong disease, but not for the wrong reason. It's not unprecedented for NET patients to go up to seven years with incorrect treatment. When doctors finally diagnose the disease correctly, the cancer has often spread to other areas of the body. NET cancer awareness is of utmost importance for these reasons.

More than 12,000 people a year in the United States are diagnosed with NET cancers. According to the disease, there are currently 125,000 patients. Each year, the number of cases is forecast to rise by 5 percent. Aretha Franklin and Steve Jobs, two well-known people who died from NET cancer, are among the many people to have died from NET cancer.

How to celebrate #worldnetcancerday.netcancerday.com

INCA members around the world partner with cafes in their local community on this day to promote their "Let's Talk About NETs" branded cups. This event is an annual celebration that encourages NET patients to inspire others to become ambassadors for NET cancer. Other activities include educational webinars, conferences, and marches for stripes, zebra walks, and virtual walks. The zebra is the NET cancer community's mascot and international symbol. Many people also wear a zebra awareness ribbon for this reason. #WorldNETCancerDay is a worldwide network. To do your part, post this day on social media with #WorldNETCancerDay.
