World Softball Day

During the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the sport is scheduled to be played.

In Melbourne, Australia, the first-ever world softball championship was played in February 1965. The ISF commemorated the 40th anniversary of the first championship tournament in 2005. Don Porter, then president of the ISF at the time, declared the day as World Softball Day on June 13th, 2005.
